Time commitment: 10 to 15 hours per week for 3 months with the potential to extend.

Summary: This is an unpaid internship position within a sustainability and public policy-focused nonprofit designed to give you hands-on experience in fundraising, business development, digital marketing, communications, and organizational administration. The ideal candidate will have a knack for social media, writing, and research.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team, where you will play a critical role in supporting our operations, conducting market research, and contributing to our marketing efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment. The core skills you’ll gain will include fundraising, business development, digital marketing, and organizational administration.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including managing schedules, organizing files, and handling correspondence.
Manage databases and ensure that contact information is up-to-date and accurate.
Market Research:
Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and potential opportunities
Research and identify relevant grant and other funding opportunities as well as source contacts for those opportunities.
Assist with business development by conducting company research, contact sourcing and outreach support.
Assist in gathering and analyzing data for various campaigns and projects.
Marketing Support:
Assist in the creation and scheduling of content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns, including drafting copy and designing basic graphics.
Manage social media engagement with our audience.
Qualifications:
Experience with social media platforms and Canva for asset design.
Interest in sustainability, social impact, and/or public policy.
A good understanding of climate change, environmental justice and related topics.
Eagerness to learn and adaptability.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
Familiarity with market research tools and techniques is a plus.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
