Film Synopsis:

From 2022 to 2025, the U.S. made historic strides in clean energy — more than 400 major clean energy-related factories and other projects, $130 billion in private sector investments, and more than 120,000 new jobs announced — most of it in rural and conservative areas. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) had turbocharged an American comeback story.

But now, policymakers in Washington are destroying this progress and hurting their own constituents in the process.

The recent passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” driven by a government determined to kill clean energy, is causing businesses and investors to take their money to other countries. Through the first six months of this year, companies have canceled more than $22 billion in projects with more cancellations coming by the day.

All this while China celebrates the loss of U.S. competition globally, which only helps entrench their dominance as an economic and geopolitical superpower.

At home, the consequences are getting real: families feel the pinch as energy prices rise; local leaders grapple with broken promises; small towns once again fear that prosperity is passing them by.

This media series won’t just tell these stories, but it will use them to convene and command the attention of key stakeholders in select congressional districts. There is still a chance to save much of the progress that’s already been made, but we have to act fast.
