Alan W. Strasser
Alan W. Strasser, formerly with the Mediation Institute and an environmental consultant to industry and EPA, is an attorney with over 30 years experience in environmental, health and safety regulatory and site-specific matters through positions in government, private sector, and NGOs. As an environmental and transportation attorney at the Department of Transportation, he advised on rulemaking, litigation, public-private partnerships, and dispute resolution. Most recently, at the Federal Aviation Administration, Alan led national policy and grant programming for sustainability, resilience, GHG reduction and renewable energy projects. Also, Alan has led efforts to address climate change adaptation for the White House, convened a negotiation for the Department of Energy on energy efficiency standards, and developed a partnership for DOT with the military and industry to address sea level rise impacts. He has moderated numerous dialogues and spoken widely on energy/environmental regulation and climate change. For the American Resilience Project (ARP), Alan is the Policy Director and was Story Consultant for the documentary Tidewater (2017) and Policy Director and Stakeholder Liaison for the ARP series Current Revolution (2019). He received his J.D. and M.A., Environmental Law and Policy (magna cum laude), from Vermont Law School.
